UKCRC Patient and Public Involvement Strategic
Plan (2008-11)
In April 2008, the UKCRC Board approved a
three-year strategic plan to provide a framework for the UKCRC’s
future patient and public involvement activities. The plan and an
accompanying background report are available to download
(below).
A UKCRC Board Subgroup for Patient and Public
Involvement has been established to oversee its implementation.
Membership of the Board Subgroup includes patients / public and
organisations with a specific remit to support patient and public
involvement in clinical research, such as INVOLVE, Involving People: Cynnwys
Pobl, the James Lind Alliance and
the UK Clinical Research
Network Coordinating Centre.
The Board Subgroup is charged with regularly
reporting to the UKCRC Board on progress with the implementation of
the Strategic Plan. The Board Subgroup met for the first time in
June 2008. One of its first tasks was to finalise an
implementation plan for 2008/09 which can be downloaded from the
link below.
If you would like to know more about these
activities please contact Philippa
