Integrated Research Application System (IRAS) training module launched
1st June 2009
The Integrated Research Application System (IRAS) is a UK-wide system that streamlines the process for applying for permissions and approvals to conduct health and social care research.
IRAS allows researchers to enter the information for the relevant permissions and approvals once, instead of having to complete several separate application forms for each review body. The system, which was launched in January 2008, is regularly updated to bring in new functionality and to respond to user feedback.
The most recent addition to IRAS is an online training module. This is intended to provide a simple explanation of how the system is structured and guide users through how to prepare and make applications using IRAS. It also shows users some of the key functionality that the system provides. The online module is free to use and can be accessed through the e-learning links on the IRAS website or by going directly to the e-learning module.

IRAS was launched in January 2008.
