Coordination of Experimental Medicine
The UKCRC Partners are working together to improve coordination
and share good practice in the field of experimental medicine
research.
The Experimental Cancer Medicine Centres supported by Cancer
Research UK and the UK Health Departments have been linked together
as members of the Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre
(ECMC) Network.
The National Institute for Health Research and the Chief
Scientist’s Office for Scotland have established the UK
Clinical Research Facility (CRF) Network. The network will
develop an integrated approach to identify, conduct and share
common themes and good operating practices across facilities. From
this, a comprehensive set of standard operating procedures and
management initiatives will be developed to guide standards in
clinical and experimental medicine research processes.
The NIHR Clinical Research Network Coordinating Centre (NIHR CRN
CC) has a team dedicated to experimental medicine and is taking a
lead on many issues of coordination in experimental medicine on
behalf of the UKCRC Partners.
