Experimental Medicine
Prompted by a growing consensus that more
investment was needed in the field, the major funding bodies within
the UKCRC are investing in the development of a coherent, UK-wide
national framework underpinning
experimental medicine.
The funding partners have also invested £134
million in
a coordinated initiative to develop new infrastructure and
support new research and training across the UK and Ireland.
In January 2008, the UKCRC Experimental Medicine Resources
website was launched. This is a definitive, centralised information
resource on experimental medicine facilities and expertise in the
UK. It contains up-to-date information on over 40 major facilities
and provides an optimum entry point for industry and academic
investigators seeking information.
