Microbiology and Infectious Diseases
Research Funding
As part of the UKCRC’s aim to coordinate research funding, the
UKCRC Partners are working together to improve research into
microbiology and infectious diseases in the UK.
A UKCRC planning group gathered evidence on
how to improve infection research by conducting a review of the
field. Based on this evidence, a £16.5 million UKCRC Translational
Infection Research Initiative was launched, which is providing
direct support for the conduct of high quality,
internationally competitive microbiology and
infectious diseases research, targeted at national
priority areas.
